The workshop will take place on June 29, 2022, 1:00 - 3:45 pm.
Please send abstracts to the organizers Hannes Link (email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org) or Claudia Mirretta Barone (email@example.com by April 4, 2022. Reinforcing the benefit of local proximity, we would like to limit this to scientists in and around Tübingen.
Metabolomics methods are powerful tools for the identification, characterization and quantification of small molecules and metabolites in cells, tissues, organs, biological fluids, excretion products, and even whole organisms. In microbiome research, metabolomics has emerged as a key technique to study bacteria-bacteria and bacteria-host interactions, which are mainly driven by nutrients, metabolic by-products and other small molecules. We are therefore convinced that metabolomics will play an important role in future endeavors to link the microbiome to the health status of the host, and to engineer microbiomes for therapeutic purposes.
The main goal of the workshop is to provide an overview about existing metabolomics methods in and around Tübingen. Further, we hope to have lively discussions about possible applications and to spark ideas for novel collaborative research projects.
We invite all local scientists interested in analytical techniques for metabolomics research and their possible applications in microbiome research.
The workshop will be held online and will feature short talks with a very strong emphasis on the metabolomics methods that you are using for your research and an example of their application. Talks should have a length of 10 min + 5 min for discussion.
