IGIM Summer School 2026 was a success
From June 29 to July 1, the IGIM Summer School brought together early-career researchers and international experts for three days of science, exchange, and community building.
We had the pleasure of welcoming our invited speakers Mattia Zampieri, Sabrina Green, and Honor McCann, whose talks opened up fresh perspectives, prompted thoughtful questions, and led to lively discussions across disciplines.
The program was further shaped by strong presentations and posters from our PhD students, highlighting the range and quality of research within the CMFI community. A special thank-you goes to our PhD representatives - Justine Camus, Fabian Smollich, and Katharina Tillmanns - who co-organized the summer school and put together a memorable social program.
From a pub quiz and creative lab coat design to the highly entertaining pipette-tip competition, the activities gave participants plenty of opportunities to connect beyond the lecture hall.
The event showed once again how valuable it is to create space for scientific dialogue, collaboration, and informal exchange. Research communities grow not only through excellent ideas, but also through the people and conversations that carry them forward.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s IGIM Summer School a success.
