This is what Prof. Dr. med. univ. Christoph Stein-Thoeringer is investigating. In clinical samples, he is looking for bacteria that are responsible for unusual changes in cell tissue. The aim is to understand their role in the microbiome and to develop personalised drugs for patients with bowel or pancreatic cancer in the future.
Christoph Stein-Thoeringer is CMFI Board Member and Head of Clinical Infectiology and Translational Microbiome Research at Tübingen University Hospital.
