Our microbiome – the chemistry of bacteria works within us

Science made understandable for Bad Sebastiansweiler: Prof. Dr. Stephanie Grond

23.02.2026 7:30 pm 9:00 pm Talk Stephanie Grond

An intact microbiome is an individually composed community of microorganisms and is of great importance for human health. Microorganisms live in and on our human bodies. In fact, the number of bacterial cells exceeds the number of our own body cells. This shows how closely we are connected to these microorganisms. Bacteria produce a variety of substances which, when released, exert their effects.
The lecture will address the question of what is known about the effects of the chemical substances produced by our bacteria and will provide an outlook on the possible role of the microbiome in promoting health in the future.

Prof. Dr. Stephanie Grond will give her lecture on 23 February 2026 at 7:30 p.m.
Venue:
