Mechanobiology of Infections Conference

We are excited to announce the Mechanobiology of Infections Conference, taking place at the stunning Monte Verità in Ascona, Switzerland, from June 7–11, 2026.
This will be the first international conference dedicated to understanding how mechanical forces shape microbial physiology and infection. The meeting will explore how tissue mechanics influence bacterial behavior, virulence, and immune responses, highlighting a new dimension at the intersection of microbiology and mechanobiology.
This emerging field sits at the crossroads of microbiology, physics, and biomedical engineering, aiming to redefine how we study and treat infections in complex biological environments. The conference will bring together a multidisciplinary community of researchers to share insights, foster collaborations, and discuss the latest advances in the field.
The program will feature:
-
Invited talks from leading experts
-
Contributed presentations
-
Poster sessions
Abstract submission is open, and we especially encourage contributions from early-career researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds.
