Andreas Kappler honored as one of the most highly cited researchers worldwide
The University of Tübingen is represented by seven researchers in Clarivate Analytics' “Highly Cited Researchers 2024” ranking, including CMFI Principal Investigator Andreas Kappler. This means that their scientific publications are among the most cited in their field worldwide. With this award, Clarivate Analytics, which also owns the Web of Science database, recognizes the great influence of researchers on the scientific community and the development of their disciplines.
Every year, Clarivate Analytics analyzes how often a scientific publication is cited in publications by other researchers. This analysis is based on extensive data from the “Web of Science” database. This citation frequency, known as the h-index, is often used as a key indicator of the importance of a scientific paper and as a measure of the influence of researchers in their field. The current list of “Highly Cited Researchers” comprises a total of 6636 researchers from 59 countries.
At the University of Tübingen, Prof. Claus Garbe (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Mathias Heikenwälder (Faculty of Medicine, Institute M3), Prof. Dr. Andreas Kappler (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Geosciences/Cluster of Excellence CMFI), Prof. Dr. Matthias Schwab (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Evelina Tacconelli (Faculty of Medicine, CMFI alumna), Prof. Dr. Ulf Ziemann (Faculty of Medicine) and Prof. Dr. Stephan Zipfel (Faculty of Medicine) have now been honored.
The award underlines the high quality of the research work in Tübingen and its international visibility. An overview of the award-winning researchers is available on the Clarivate Analytics website.
