Minister of State Annette Widmann-Mauz visits CMFI

Minister of State Annette Widmann-Mauz has met with representatives of Tübingen research associations.

On November 23, 2021, Minister of State Annette Widmann-Mauz was received at the Medical Microbiology and Hygiene Building at the University Hospital of Tübingen. During the two-hour meeting, she was presented with Tübingen's research work in the field of microbiology, infection research and hygiene. Topics included the worldwide increase in multi-resistant germs (ESKAPE), the development of antibiotic resistance and the research work being carried out in these areas by scientists in Tübingen. In the discussion it became clear how important the awareness of the urgency of these topics within society and the relationship between politics, science and the public are.

 

Representatives of current research networks (Tübingen and trans-regional), such as the Cluster of Excellence CMFI, the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and the Transregional Collaborative Research Center TRR261 participated: Andreas PeschelDirk KrausSilke Peter,Peter SassSamuel WagnerNadine Ziemert, and Leon Kokkoliadis.

The meeting was initiated by host Andreas Peschel, speaker of the Cluster of Excellence CMFI.
